Outlook: Inline chat for email drafting
Ship Outcomes, Not Chat
What it is
Outlook: Inline chat for email drafting. Tags: Copilot. Roadmap id 570440.
What it does
Instead of opening Copilot Chat every time you want to use Copilot to draft a message, this change introduces an inline chat component that streamlines the process and lets you interact with Copilot without opening the sidebar. GA date: October CY2026
What to worry about
Search-plus-chat is useful discovery. Do not mistake fluent answers for shipped outcomes.
What it means for users
Treat Copilot as the door people already open. Route work through agents that finish steps under identity and audit.
